The Happiness Warriors Counseling Center Has Broken Arrow Dancing

Business, Health Care, Being in BA
Your song is playing. You couldn’t believe it at first, but then the unmistakable beat and melody tickle your ear and activate the synapses in your brain that exclaim, “Dance! Dance! Dance!” You move in perfect time with the universe onto the dance floor, your body a conduit and conductor to bass and harmony. Alive. You know the words, and you know how it goes, verse and chorus and rhythm and pitch all in sync with you.
Diana Loesch, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) of the Happiness Warriors Counseling Center, calls this feeling of joy the “twirl,” and her practice is getting more people “twirling” in Broken Arrow. The Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation (BAEDC) is excited to share and spotlight Loesch’s work that brings BeInBA to life.
How the Happiness Warriors Work
Loesch is a licensed mental health professional of twenty years and brought her practice from Central Texas to Broken Arrow last May. She provides individual and couples counseling in a compassionate and collaborative environment and specializes in the following areas:
Anxiety Management
Depression
Trauma Informed Care
Anger Management
Codependency
Relationship Issues
Grief and Loss
Change of Life Adjustment
“We can’t see what other people can see,” Loesch says. “Having another perspective, especially in building self-awareness, is critical for any relationship. Relationships are where the value in life lies.”
Loesch sees clients face-to-face in the Tulsa area and offers telehealth services to residents in Oklahoma and Texas.
“In terms of building a relationship, being face-to-face is really valuable,” Loesch says. “The biggest predictor in counseling is the relationship you have with your counselor. My clients need to be able to count on me. To be there. To be present.”
And as her practice is approaching a year in the area, she’s found Broken Arrow residents to be very welcoming and open to her work. “People have been very receptive,” Loesch says. “People here are very interested in knowing other people.”
Being in Broken Arrow
Since moving to Broken Arrow, Loesch has found new and uplifting levels of serenity and independence both in her work and her and her husband’s weekly explorations around town.
“I wanted to be in a position of calling my own shots,” she says. “I wanted more autonomy in scheduling. The freedom is incredible.”
She excitedly remarks on discovering a live music scene only five minutes away that she thought she’d leave in Texas, paired with beer, wine, and some of the best burgers in town. She’s found Broken Arrow life has a pleasant cadence that Loesch knows shouldn’t be taken for granted.
“Something that Broken Arrow offers that’s not as easy to find anymore is that it’s slower paced,” she says. “It’s vibrant, it’s quiet. People are very engaged here. I’m sure there are many more gems just waiting to be discovered.”

Getting Back on Your Feet
Loesch is quick to acknowledge just how daunting the idea of receiving counseling can be. Fundamental to her drive is her firsthand experience with counseling and her desire to help those hoping to rediscover joy and independence take that courageous first step.
“If you’ve ever thought about counseling, take a chance,” she advises. “The first phone call is the hardest, but most people wind up finding tremendous value in the process. We only get one life. Let’s have the best life available to us.”
